Hey, Ernie!  Did you see we had some visitors the other day??

Yeah, Wally…there were some vishus deers in our yard!!

They probably heard deer hunting season started
so they were looking for some place safe to go…

Aw, Ernie…there’s no hunting on our island!!

That’s good, Wally!!
Do you think if all the other vishus deer find out
there’s no hunting here, they’ll come to our island to hide out??

Well, Ernie, they’d hafta know how to swim!!

  6. Oh, nice visitors! I never get visitors like that… maybe I should move to an island too!

  7. Ernie and Wally,
What a sight in your yard….Madi would have a fit if she saw deer in HER yard.
She gets pretty upset when Charlie Brown the Bassett hound comes to visit….
    Wonderful photos.
    Madi and Mom

  8. Those are some pretty cool visitors! The most we get here are a couple of pigeons or a squirrel!

  9. I love seeing deer in our yard! I think they are so beautiful! Your pretty lucky to have friends like that!
    Have fun!

  10. Maybe there’s something about deer that swim that makes them friendly. I think they are cute…as long as I’m not outside with them.

  11. So how did the First Deer get on the Island?
I suspect the current island deer will multiply on their own and then be looking to go off the the mainland otherwise, pretty soon you’ll be calling it Deer Island! Ha!

  14. dear oh dear.

  15. Them deer are furry kyute! It’s funny, they know when hunting season is open.

  16. Even teh deer in the country know when the season starts !Maybe there is a deer ferry?

  17. Hey fellas, how close is your island to the mainland? How did the deer get to the island to begin with? Is it close enough that they swam there years and years ago?

We’re curious! (because we’re cats!) Purrs, Ray and Buzz

  18. Woooo hoooo! It is neat to see your vishus deer visitors, they are so pretty! We wish ours would come back to visit again!
    Purrs and headbutts,
    Sabrina, Sam and Simon

  19. That’s col that you have deer in your yard! All we ever get around here are opossums, and they are kind of gross. Just how from the mainland are you guys, anyway?

  20. MOL….you guys are soooooooo cute and funny.

    xxxxxx

  21. I wonder if Island Deer are nicer cause they aren’t hunted by mean beans so they don’t feel they need to eat juicy kitties to survive. Hmmmmm Perhaps I should move to an island. Our backyard deer look like they are ready to eat me right up!

  22. Those vishus deer look like they are on the hunt for nice juicy kitties. Be careful!

  23. How far would vischus deer have to swim to get to your Island. Also, how deep is it? Maybe its not so impossible !!

  24. Maybe the deer could ride over on the ferry…They look pretty tame to me though.

  25. Holy mackerel, vishus deer! We must say we are happy to hear these deer will be safe on your island!

  26. We is so happy to know that those deers is not gonna get killed by the hunters cuz they is so cute! Right now is not a good time to be a deer in Michigan…sigh.

  27. Uh oh, those vishus deer seem to be getting everywhere. They come into our bottom field but we don’t think they are looking for us cuz we aren’t young tender and juicy any more.

  28. We thinks if those deers could get on your island, other deers could, too. Maybe you should close your curtains so they can’t see how tender & juicy you two are!

  29. Oh ! they’re so cute ^^

  30. Oh! Deer!

    heh heh heh

  31. Somekitty told me deers aren’t vicious – they’re delicious! But every time my human has tried giving me venison cat food, I have rejected it.

BTW, Ernie should play baseball – with the polydactyl mitt, he’d make a great catcher.

  32. Ernie, you should bag that deer when you have the chance!

I see your claws out. Now get busy.

    Paws ‘n Claws,
    Rupert

  33. They look cute yet you can never trust vishus deers 🙂

  34. WE are glad to hear your island is a no hunting zone! It might get pretty crowded if those deer hear spread the word!

  35. Way cool to have deer in your yard! Kitties must think it’s a pawsome reality show. Yes, glad to hear about the no hunting area, too.

  36. Wow! deer in your yard. You are so lucky. All I see in my yard are kitties, the mean dog from the house in back, squirrels, possums and raccoons-no deer. What lucky island cats you are.

  37. How cute! We don’t have deer or squirrels in this island. Is Australia considered an island?

  38. Oh noes! Vishus deer! Gotta be careful of those things…. (not that we’d know, we’ve never seen anything worse than a vishus rabbit or vishus birdie up close, and vishus squirrels at a distance…. MOL)

    Purrs and hugs,
    The Kitty Krew

  39. No hunting? How horrible! Please tell us the rule doesn’t aply to cats.

  40. WOW!!! I sure haven’t seen anything like that out my window…except when that Santa fella shows up!

  41. Never herd deer called vishus before except if they’re
been munching all those nice plants in your flower beds.
I think they hiding from the hunters at your house cuz
there’s smart and you have snacks! 🙂

  42. You guys are lucky to have cute visitors, I live in a small city and there is a school behind our backyard and the visitors are teenagers.

  43. This is the time of year when the deer are around more so keep a watchful eye out. You can never be too careful.

  44. Look at those deer! I’ve never seen any of those in our yard before!

  45. Hey there Ernie & Wally,
Looks like you’ve got to keep your guard up with all those deer out there. It’s your island, but unfortunately they’re bigger than you. You may need to nap in shifts.

    Katie & Glogirly

  46. Those deer look like fun! I wish we had some around here.

  47. At least they are coming out in the daytime now so you don’t have to stay up all night to watch for them!

  48. whoa! deer! i’ve never seen those in person before – cool that you got to!

  49. Better keep an eye on those vishus deers just in case. We get them in our yards here, but we have a fence so we don’t see them out back.

  50. Deers?
I think they are telling you the holidays is really near~

  51. My those really are very vishus looking!

We don’t get anything like that here in Napa!

  52. They don’t look very vishus to us ~ we think they might be Santa-Paws deer, checking owt hoo has been norty and hoo has been nice, ready for crimble present deliveries. So we fink yoo should be very nice to them!
