You guys! This is a selfie of me playing with a swan feather that was taken a while ago. Check out the grip I have on it! Boy, I sure was having fun!
Speaking of swans, I have some sad news to share. We hadn’t seen the swan family for almost a week…I think they took a vacation somewhere…and when they showed up the other day, there were only 2 babies…or cygnets if you use the official term for swan babies…not the 3 that we first saw. The mom says stuff like that happens…it’s nature after all. But it still makes me a little sad.

Gosh Ernie – your Mom is right of course……Mother Nature knows best I suppose. I find it sad when a duckling is missing from a family group too – around here lots of critters visit the pond two houses down from us and sadly geese and ducks lose “family members” to the animals looking for food. We do think it’s wonderful that you got a souvenir feather though!!!

Nature can be very sad. I always talked to Mr. Blackbird every day as he went bouncing around the garden. We went away for 2 weeks and when we got back there was no sign of him, just a wing on the lawn. The hawk must have got him.

Oh that is a cute photo of you and the feather, Ernie! That makes me awfully sad about the little swan too. Things happen that way in the natural world, but it does upset me.

Oh, that is sad. And yes, nature has her own actions and sometimes for good reasons. Perhaps the little one was ill but we are still sad for the mama. LOVE your feather and to have swans in your life, JUST LIKE KING CHARLES, haha. Well, Ernie, you are a king to us….
