Hey guys. No…my selfie isn’t smelly. It’s my house!
So the painting strangers are finished and gone…thank cod. But now the house smells stinky…and it’s not from my litter box! Let me tell you…the fumes could knock you out! The mom said I’m exaggerating about the smell but even she admitted it’s annoying. She said it might take a few days for the smells to go away.
Y’know what else she said? She said the painters may be back again in a few weeks. That there’s more stuff to be painted.
Sheesh. The things I have to put up with around here.

Gee Ernie! I hope those paint smells will not last too much longer.
I know how much they irritate our sensitive noses :/
On the other paw, that is a pawsome, handsome selfie!!!!!!

Yuck on the stinky smells but that’s a great selfie.
This is a bad time of year to paint. Better to wait until the windows can be open for ventilation. I know painters are all busy though so you have to take them while you can. Very handsome selfie. XO
Ernie, that smell when the house has been painted and the wetness that comes from carpet cleaning are the bane of our ives!
That’s the bad thing about painting. All you can do is open the windows as much as possible.
And we bet you can’t even open the windows to air it out, huh, Ernie? Well, we are glad those painter guys are gone for now.
Nice selfie!
Open up some windows. Paint is toxic. There are ones with low VOC like Benjamin Moore Aura which don’t smell. Bet it looks nice though.
This is Benjamin Moore paint but not Aura. Fortunately temps are up today so windows can be opened. But it’s windy as heck! We’ll do the best we can.
Oh boy…. our mom was talking about painting. Maybe we can come and stay with you?
Don’t come until the smells here go away!
The smell of paint is awful, but you still managed a lovely selfie, Ernie.
We are so glad the painters have left and you all have some peace! Lee and Phod
Ernie, you look meowvolous, and we sure appreciate you joining us today. Tell your mom that there are low and zero VOC paints that won’t stink up your house. Have a terrific week. Yep, those paints can be stinky Ernie but humans do like to spruce things up!
No one likes the smell of paint, but once that smell goes away I bet you’ll love the new spiffy looking walls Ernie.
My word, painters do stink up the joint. Mom had some in last year. I watched them from under the chesterfield.
YUCK! I am sure I wouldn’t like that paint smell……I might have to quarantine myself in my tent with a curtain over it (and a supply of treats of course) until the stinkies subside! Good luck Ernie!
Hugs, Teddy
Ooh Ernie, I know exactly the smell you mean. We had some painting done back in England and Oh Heavens it gave me such a headache. I hope the smell disappears soon.
At least the painters did not spill any paint on YOU Ernie!
Ernie your nose is more sensitive than your Mama’s – and you are closer to the floor (depending on ewhere they are painting ) so we hope you get through the ordeal safely. Our huMom gets headaches sometimes from such smells.
Nice Easy Sunday Selfie, Ernie, but it’s too bad you’ve got to deal with the stinky paints!
Hansum Selfie Ernie deepsite THE smelly paint fumess!
At leest today you cuud open THE windowss today! Mee went out inn Condo an it sure was windy…….hope THE Wind aired yore place out!
**nose rubss** BellaDharma an (((huggiess))) BellaSita Mum
Ernie, think I’ll make The Hubby read your post today…there is plenty of painting to be done ’round here!
Paint is a terrible smell. Teddy complains about it too. Kitties have sensitive noses. Good selfie.
You poor thing! Fresh paint can definitely be annoying.
We just had a decorator in and it took ages to get back to the normal smells. Then the decorator came back, and did the plumbing also. He was really nice and quiet, the perfect person for us, but the smells and disruption for us cats is so very difficult.
Hope the next visit goes quicker and better for you, Ernie.
Purrs
I can relate! We had painters here too… fortunately that smell here did not last very long.
I am sorry to hear about the bad smells, Mr. Ernie! Your selfie is great!
Purrs,
Benny
OMC not again, Ernie…be prepurred on more stinkies in the future…MOL..Pawkisses for a Peacefull Week ahead 🙂 ♥
Well, Ernie, just don’t let them paint you into a CORNER!!! We can send you a clothespin if you like for your schnoz.
I feel for you, Ernie. The housekeeper wanted to do some staining of beams in the sunroom and just a little patch and the smell was soooo strong, I thought I would pass out, all four feet in the air and crosses in my eyes…After opening windows, all was back to normal. Thank cod for that! Meow!
i think treats are definitely in order.
Fantastic selfie, Ernie! Hope those paint odors are gone soon!
Hopefully the paint stinkies fade soon. We might paint later this year when we can keep the windows open for fresh air.
Humans do so many annoying things!
You look lovely in your selfie x
Ernie, we think you should demand a little mask! Our mom painted the living room and hallway a few months ago and there was no smell at all. Our mom was surprised, even. She used Behr Premium Plus.
Yeah, these painters used stinky paint. Next time, the mom is going to ask that they use paint that’s not so stinky.
Ernie! We feel for you! Our Mom is waiting for the weather to get better before she starts working on our house again. It was awful when she was working on the kitchen last simmer. We are sorry we have not been around much. Mom has been working on the committee to stop the school district from closing our local elementary school. We are hooping it will all be over by the end of the month

I feel for you Ernie! The smell of paint gives me a headache every time!
Oh no, did you spray catnip aerosol?
