Hey guys! Can you believe that it’s the end of April already? This year is zippin’ by fast! Summer is just around the corner and I can’t wait! More sun…more warmth…more windows opened!

The end of the month means one thing…time for Pet Photo Fails… the blog hop hosted by our friends, Melissa and Mudpie over at Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries & Meows. You guys know how this works, right? All you gotta do is post a blooper photo of your pet…one of those pictures that just didn’t turn out right and would normally end up in the recycle bin.

Y’know…I’m no expert but I do know that when taking photos, lighting is probably one of the most important things to consider. If it’s too dark, the photo will be, too. As this month’s bloopers demonstrate.

These photos are totally untouched except for some cropping, resizing and adding our watermark.

Because there wasn’t enough light, I look like a big black blob in my bed. Only the tail hanging over let’s you know it’s me…though even that is questionable. And the picture looks all pixelated…whatever that means.

And if the flash goes off?

Then you get something like this. I look pretty spooky, don’t I?? Maybe I should have saved this photo for Halloween.

So for all you amateur photographers out there…make sure the lighting is right before you start snapping pictures and waking up your cat from a nice nap. Okay??

  1. As a black cat I understand well that humans (well, my mum) do not always get the best picture 😉
Those photo fails made mum giggle 😉

  2. Oh, Ernie!
That’s all you have to know, is that your humans love you very much, despite their amateur photography skills.
Trust me, Manny, Chili Bruce, and Sweetie share your pain at being caught in a blurry image.
The PO’M, not so much since he’s outside, and there is usually enough natural light to make his stripes look fab.

  3. Your lasers made us MOL!!!

    The Florida Furkids

  4. Those lasers are pawsome Ernie!

  5. Ernie those are the best LASERS I’ve EVER seen! They could pierce the skin they’re so bright! I kinda dig the black blob with a tail blooper……. I really enjoy bloopers – maybe because my Mom takes so many of them. HAHA

    Hugs, Teddy

  8. We’re about to take our first cruise of the year in our boat. We’re looking forward to that.

Love the tail, but the laser eyes are my favorite. Those are huge.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

  9. Ernie…those EYES!

  10. I’m one of those amateurs – getting the lighting right is my biggest challenge in taking photos! 🙂

  11. Love those full strength lasers Ernie!!!

  12. Just proof that photographing black kitties is hard, Ernie! Which makes the good photos of you extra special!

  15. Powerful eye beams, Ernie! It certainly is a challenge to get enough light, or just the right amount, on our black kitties in photos! We don’t know how though, we just play with it until something looks sort of okay to us, but we’re never really happy with the pics.

  16. Those are some wild Lasers you have there Ernie. Dad always says photos of brofur Toby are the hardest he has to take. I say just take them all of me but does he listen

  17. You are way too dark, Ernie. You’re just a smear on your bed. The laser eyes look like flashlights. So you look like a black smear with flashlights for ees. Good lord, if someone wanted to adopt you te mere saying of how you look would turn everyone off.

    Shoko

  18. Oh Ernie! I couldn’t stop laughing at those lasers. They are the biggest I have ever seen!

  19. Mr. Ernie, #1 says she is just beginning to find out how difficult it is to take good photos of black cats!

    Purrs,
    Benny

  20. That second photo would definitely be purrfect for Halloween! Thank so much for joining us 🙂

  21. Hi Ernie! Your photo fails are what Mom takes! Its a good thing our human brother takes great pictures or we would never be able to post! You do look a little like an alien in that last photo though! We LOVE it!

  22. Wow love your eyes Ernie!

  23. Impressive lasers!

  24. Hahaha. Kitty’s eyes glowed just that same color with a flash. Unfortunately, I didn’t know NOT to use a flash back then. Ernie, your Mom has helped me a lot with learning to photograph black cats – just by my perusing your pictures on your blog.

  25. Seems like the lighting was pretty good!

  26. Ooh! That laser beam on high one is crazy, Ernie!

  27. MOL…no bloopers for me, Ernie, just a little more light on the subject…MOL 😀 Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 ♥

  28. Wow, Ernie! Those are some spooky eyes!

  29. WOW. You look like a kittly who just landed from a flying saucer, haha.

  30. Beautiful black panfurs are hard to get photos of – you still come thru as a gorgeous cat Ernie!

  31. MOL! Those are some funny fails! I can’t believe it’s already May.

  32. Ernie, didn’t you know its not polite to shine your High Beams on on coming traffic?? LOL!
