When you have pets, it seems odors are inevitable. The one thing I don’t want people to smell when they come into my home is pet smells…especially litter box odors. I’ve tried using air-freshening sprays but they only mask the smells and don’t last long. Not to mention that I’m concerned about what’s in the spray and whether it could harm my cats. So when the people at Okaysou offered me their AirMic 4S air purifier to review, I jumped at the chance. I’d been thinking about getting an air purifier and here was my opportunity to try one.
About the Okaysou AirMic 4S
Let me tell you a little bit about the Okaysou AirMic 4S air purifier. It uses a medical grade air purifying filtration system to capture and reduce up to 99.97% of airborne particles including dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, smoke, household odor, and harmful gases like formaldehyde, ammonia and VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Why is having a medical grade filtration system so important? Because it can remove the tiniest air particles…as small as 0.3 microns…more efficiently and effectively. It’s great for people with allergies or pets.
Here are some other features of this small but powerful air purifier:
- It uses a medical grade H13 true HEPA filter, and is designed for small to medium rooms up to 300 square feet such as bedrooms, offices, nurseries and kitchens.
- It has 3 speeds…low, medium and high…and a timer that can be set to turn the unit off after 2, 4 or 8 hours.
- In addition to the 3 speeds, it also has an ultra-quiet sleep mode along with an optional night light that emits a soft blue glow.
- It filters the air of a 300 sq ft room about 3 times per hour.
- There’s an indicator to let you know when the filter needs to be replaced.
- There are 4 replacement filter options for you to choose from, depending on your particular needs: pet allergies, germ defense, toxin absorber or odor remover.
- Okaysou offers a 5 year warranty on the unit.
Our Experience
I decided to put the AirMic 4S in the room Zoey spends most of her time. I keep a litter box in the room…and honestly, there are times after Zoey has used it that I can barely breath. (Don’t tell Zoey I said that!) She also eats in the room and her food, especially fish-based ones, can be rather stinky.
I like that the AirMic 4S is easy to set up and use. All I had to do was take it out of the box, remove the plastic protective wrapping from the filter and install it, plug the unit in, and it was ready to go.
The control panel on the top of the unit is self-explanatory. I turned it on the lowest speed which was barely audible. And even on medium and high speeds, it was only a little bit louder. I left it on low, and after about an hour or so, I noticed a real difference in the freshness of the air in the room. No more stinky litter box or food odors!
Something else I like about the AirMic 4S is its small size…measuring around 9” x 9” x 12” and weighing only about 6 ½ pounds. I can easily move it from room to room wherever needed. I also plan to use it in my kitchen area to help get rid of any nasty cooking smells. There’s nothing worse than lingering fried food smells…am I right?
As an aside, if you’re looking for an air purifier for a larger room or area, Okaysou offers the AirMax 8L. Similar in features to the AirMic 4S, the AirMax 8L is designed for rooms up to 800 square feet.
Our Recommendation
If you’re looking to purchase an air purifier, you should check out the Okaysou AirMic 4S. It’s made well, it’s easy to use, it’s safe, and its sleek design is unobtrusive and fits in with any home décor. But most of all, it works. I definitely noticed a difference in the air quality. Costing around $90, the AirMic 4S is an excellent value when compared to air purifiers in the same price range.

Something like this would be an excellent addition to the house; thank you for posting about it.
WAIT A MINUTE! WE SMELL? Well, okay, I concede and this looks like a really compact and neat air purifier. Maybe we would all sleep better with one of these doing its thing….
And yours is the only blog that doesn’t ask me to put in my URL. A www IS a URL!
Great info for us all.
That looks like a good one, usually they are so bulky – I like it!
Angel Madi could have made good use of that. She was such a Diva…OMCs when she finished her business she would became jet propelled leaving an after burn of litter to get away what we determined to be her business.
Zoey you make a very beautiful spokes lady
Hugs cecilia
What a great pitch, Zoey. Well done. Nothing better than eliminating pet odors. I so remember. Didn’t that cool stuff like this when I had kitties.
Have a purrfect day and week. My best to your mom. ♥
That does sound like a good one. We have two air purifiers here and if they need replacing we’ll check these out.
Thank you for your review, Zoey! It sounds like a great air purifier. And that’s excellent value indeed. We definitely check it out!
Wow what a great item!
i moved a litter box up to the main level hoping it would help eliminate theo’s peeing on the carpet. it’s helped but there are times when the odor is pretty horrific… so i may have to give the air purifier a try…
thanks for the review! Our mom has been thinking about an air purifier and she will have to check this out.
Sounds like a great idea.
Great review! Definitely something worth considering.
Nice review. That sounds like a great product. XO
Either my human’s nose has gotten so bad she can’t smell anything regarding us kitties, or we don’t smell much!
Hey that’s a super great idea……..and not just for preventing the “stinky” – just for general nice, clean, pure air to circulate which is good for all of us!
Hugs, Teddy
We have two large HEPA filters but a smaller one would be nice. This one looks like it could be a good option.
That was a great review, Mom Sue. We’ve contemplated getting an air purifier. We’ll check this one out!
That sounds good, Zoey. So far we don’t need one, but we sure will consider it when we want to have one. Thanks for the review ♥ Pawkisses for a wonderful Thursday 🙂 ♥
I’ve been wondering about getting one of these! Smells don’t get me … but I have allergies (not entirely sure to what) – but I’m pretty sure our vents are full of yuck … and we rent, so there’s not really a whole lot I can do about the vents.
We have air purifiers throughout our house. I think any cat parent would want them!
Though this sounds great, with seven cats and litter boxes in five rooms and the catio, I would be moving this around a lot, as I cannot imagine buying one for each room. So happy it is working for you. Thanks for a very thorough review. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Whoa! That looks really cool. How often does the light go off the change the filter and how much are the filters? We bought one that cost lots more and this one seems very comparable as far as features. Good review but I could do without the title saying us cats have odors.
