Bunny and Bird TV

Hi guys! I bet you’re all wondering what I’m staring at down there on our deck. Anyone wanna take a guess? C’mon…take a guess. Okay…I’ll tell you.

black cat looking out window

It’s this bunny rabbit! And I’m really surprised he’s on our deck.

Y’see…our deck sits up kinda high…there’s about 6 steps that rabbit would have had to hop up to get up there. But I know he’s looking for something to eat and I bet those flowers look pretty tasty to him.

Hey…I’ve got an update on the swallows for you. Remember I told you they had built a nest on top of an unused speaker on our deck? Well, there’s 2 baby swallows in that nest now. You can see them here.

Actually, they look almost full grown…like they’re ready to fly the coop soon. And look at the mess they’ve made of that speaker! The mom will have some cleaning to do when they finally leave.

Wait! Stop the presses! There’s actually 3 babies in the nest! The mom was able to take a video of the mom feeding them…sorry…not the best quality because she says it’s hard to get a good angle of the nest. And she saw 3 babies!

If you watch it ‘til the end, you’ll see the third one poke its head out.

  1. Whoa, Ernie!
That third chick stuck it’s head out last, but got the goods!
Here’s hoping that the family flies off soon; I know your mom and dad dislike having a mess like that.
Bet your dad will either remove the speaker, or put up some sort of anti-bird-nest cage around the area.
The Hubby did the same thing here, because starlings were using a tiny cubby hole in our soffit, and we could hear them in the wall! Eeks!

  2. COOL!!! Both Mr. WABBIT and the baby birds – all that wildlife to observe (or in the case of the birds – listen to!). Mr. Wabbit will love those petunias and I’m guessing he knew they were there all along and was doing a “snatch and grab” !!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Awww, lots of Aw this morning. Loved the bunny and all those baby birds. Mom has to be tired feeding them all day long.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. ♥

  4. Yeah, buns like to eat flowers! Mum didn’t buy much this spring so we don’t have much out. Also, them fevvers make a mess. If you aren’t using the speaker you might want to take it down. Then no more messy nests!

  5. What a lovely, safe place you have for the wildlife in your area, they are so beautiful – hope the flowers survive!

  6. I know it’s a mess but Ernie, tell your mom thanks for allowing the mama to nest there again. XX

  7. We have a bunny visit sometimes too, but not for a few weeks. Mom bean says she doesn’t miss him eating what little veg she had.

Those birds are pretty darn messy aren’t they? At least you don’t have to clean it up. MOL!

  8. Well that little birdie on the left i the go-getter, that’s for sure! SO adorable and a lovely video. Merci.

  9. They’re so cute Ernie! Lots to keep you busy.

  10. You sure got lots to watch Ernie, how will you ever keep up with your naps?

  11. That’s great video! Swallows are such pretty, graceful birds! (That’s the Human speaking–I think the adjective I’d use is tasty-looking!) Also, we think maybe that speaker is done for. Might be worth the clost of replacing…..cause, Yuck!

  12. That is like when Dad first saw Fanny and her kittens by the shed. He thought there were 2 and then 3. All adopted we are happy to say and we hope the birdies all do well too

  13. Those are BIG birdie babies! We have had a couple of bunnies hanging out in our front yard. I don’t have a good view of the front unless I’m outside myself, so I don’t get Bunny TV here.

  14. We saw him!!! He seemed pretty hungry!!

  16. I am glad we have none of those messy swallows nesting here, and no rabbits in the neighborhood either. You got a big job watching out for those tresspassers!

  17. Ernie, you really have a lot of stations to turn into. You have Bunny TV and Bird TV you are all set now. We love seeing the little ones peeking from the nest. Thanks for sharing. Have a great rest of your week.

  18. Those are cute baby swallows. Mr. Rabbit is definitely eyeing up those flowers!

  19. You have such cute little visitors!

  20. That is a pushy bunny. You should give him a fright 🙂

  21. We have a chipmunk who likes to sit on our front stairs. I scare him every time I open the front door. Unfortunately for the boyz there’s no window that they can see him from so it’s more like chipmunk radio in our house.

  22. You have better stuff to watch ON YER DECK than we do.

  23. You’ve got some good stuff to watch!

  24. Wow! You guys get to see so much great stuff!

  25. Meowza! You’ve got great wildlife in your neck of the woods. We’ve seen deer, moose, squirrels and bears but never a bunny! Those swallows are neat too. Our Human says that swallows help keep mosquitoes away.

  26. That was a great video! You have so much to see around there! Our Dad saw a bunny recently too, but the chickens chased it off! Guess they didn’t want to share their snacks with him. 🙂

  27. You have an excellent nature tv channel!

  28. Bunny and bird baby TV? That’s fabulous, Ernie!

  29. Oh! Oh! Oh! Is not baby swallows the bestest!! When Angel Nellie was living in the apartment in Richmond on the Frazer River, they had baby swallows on their deck! And Mom says the mess was AWFULS but Nellie said watching the babies and the Mom and Dad feeding them was worth it!! Wes does not have Rabbits here in Midway, but wes does gets the evil Deers! Marv stalks them like the jungle cat he is!

  30. That bunny definitely looks as if it needs a good meal, and those petunias look mighty nummy. We are surprised he got on your deck. We did see all three baby birds. Cool. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  31. I saw the third one!! You are so lucky! We also have plenty of bunnies this year too!

  32. That bunny reminds me of the bunny thief the Tabbies O’Trout Towne are dealing with! Someone needs to touch these bunnies some manners!

  33. Some-bunny ate all my seedling purple coneflowers…but now, after the hooligsans caught a biggish rabbit, well, they are growing back.

    Cool video of the swallows!

  34. Cute, but messy little birdies. I bet it’s fun to watch them. The bunny must be fun to watch. I wish we had the bunny channel here.

  35. You have so many friends outside of your house! We just have lizards. Ugh.
