Hi guys. Ernie here. Last week when we got all that snow, something else also happened. The geese returned.

Geese in water

Now, they hadn’t been around all summer or fall. I don’t know where they went, but they weren’t here. Not until it snowed. Then a whole bunch of them showed up…and it was a feeding frenzy.

Geese in water

I don’t know what food was in that cold water but it sure must have been tasty the way those geese were going at it. The mom said it looked like they were bobbing for apples…whatever that is.

And then…the next day…they were gone again.

Swans in water

The swans came to visit…but then, they’re always around. Same goes for the ducks.

Now I’m not sorry those geese left. The mom kinda hopes they don’t come back because they’re messy and noisy. All that noise has been known to ruin a good nap.

And you know me…the last thing I want is a ruined nap. Zzzzzzzz…

  1. You’re right, those geese can be super messy and VERY noisy. We’re glad you can get some quality nap time in.

  2. Bet those geese came here! They are always all over the place. Yesterday Mom was in a parking lot getting ready to leave and a huge herd of them were flying over and she was cringing hoping they wouldn’t drop any of their stinky poopies on her car.

  3. Ernie you do look TOTALLY comfy there……I can almost (almost) hear the snoring!! You have lots of BURDS to keep an eye on don’t you….that just HAS to be fun (when you’re not napping of course!).

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. As someone who’s had a pet goose before, I agree, messy and LOUD! But the swans! Oooo they’re so pretty!

  5. Those Canadian Geese will be back; it’s guaranteed!

  6. It was nice of the geese to stop by for a quick visit. We are glad that they left right away. Cause we don’t want them to disturb your nap time. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your week.

  7. I call them flying poop houses. Just saying. I’m with the kitty. Don’t mess with my nap.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

  8. Cat TV is nice but naps are nicer.

  9. Hey what’s good for the goose is NOT good for the kitty cat!
But how lovely, the swans. Wow…really beautiful where you live.

  10. Maybe they were on their way further south? We have geese here year round, even though it is furry cold. Mom bean says they’re dumb!

  11. the geese seem to have it backward. the rest of us disappear when the snow appears.

  12. Those geese do make one big mess. Ernie, that sure looks like one great nap. All of you have a great day.

  13. It sounds like those geese are a little bit confused!

  14. Our geese were gone for a while, maybe they flew up to see snow cause they’re back again.

  15. Beautiful photos of them. You are cuter though 🙂 XO

  16. Those geese sound annoying! Can’t a kitty catch a snooze?

  17. Ernie
I recognize those geese spent the summer here…I gave them your coordinates
    Hugs Cecilia

  18. Geese don’t hang around long in one place when Christmas is just around the corner!

  19. We have a few hundred Canada Geese living on the marshes close to us. I agree, they are very noisy. They do a fly past every morning and night and make a deafening racket as they do it.
They originally only came for the winter but now stay all year.

  20. Are these Canadian geese? Yes, they are loud and squawky. Not to mention their bathroom manners leave a lot to be desired.

    Shoko

  21. Canadian geese, eh? Sorry, I promise we did not send them down to you! But they sure are noisy. I hope you get your snoozies, Ernie!

  22. Erns, I wonder if there were tuna fishes in that pond. If so, it would’ve been nice for one of the geese to deliver some fresh to your door. Tee hee hee.

  23. They must be fun to watch! Sleep tight while you can 🙂

  24. We would not want our nap interrupted by noisy geese either!
We have geese that are not native to our province. They spend Summer at a big ,popular pond in the city. When Winter gets close, the 9 are gathered up and spend the Winter at Hope for Wildlife Sanctuary until Spring.
Since they are not close to us, they do not make noise or interrupt our naps 😉
    Purrs,Georgia and Julie

  25. If you have open water over the winter they are likely to be back. Mum saw lots of them flying around today while she was out.

  27. Ernie, we don’t blame you. Geese are bothersome to peaceful napping!

  28. They must be snow geese! I heard of them.

  29. Those geese are beautiful, but like you said, they’re noisy and messy.

  30. I thought geese flew south for the winter. I guess I’m wrong about that.

  31. What a fun sight with lots of geese having meal! And swans on blue water are so beautiful. But of course, we are most delighted to see you, Ernie. You look very cozy and content there 🙂
Enjoy nap and have a great day! xo

  32. Maybe they were super hungry after flying from wherever they spent the summer? I love the swans – I’m so jealous!

  33. I would so love to see a real swan!

  35. boy Ernie, you all sure have a most gorgeous view even if there ARE geese there. We know what you mean though, we have them here too and yeah they sure are messy and noisy!

  36. Maybe you don’t have any actual resident geese, you just see ones that are passing through. Sounds like that would be fine for all of you!

  37. Hope you get some rest before they come back. Before the snow came we had geese in the park across the street everyday.

  38. There are so many uninvited guests, haha! It’s so lovely to see you take a nap under the warm sun.

  39. You may need to investigate the migration pattern of those geese and what they eat. Could be interesting. We never like to have a nap spoiled. Looks as if you were having a good one, Ernie. 40. Oh my! That looks like we skipped Autumn. What a wonderful view, Ernie, we wished we had them around. You have a good nap, I think you can sleep with the noise, I know I can 😀 Pawkisses for a quiet Wednesday 🙂

  41. They may be gone for now, Ernie, but we bet they will come back. Enjoy your napping!

  42. Wow, we hear geese fly over the yard sometimes, but they never land here. TBT says they used to stop on our front yard and eat some grass, but WE have never seen them do that.

  43. I can only imagine how noisy they are. Good bird TV though!
