Hey guys. The mom has been getting into houseplants a lot more lately. Well, she’s always liked plants and there’s always been some around the house. But since moving, she’s got more room for more plants now.
She recently bought this beauty. It’s called a monstera deliciosa. Boy, that’s a weird name for a plant, don’tcha think? I wonder who came up with that one.
And if you’re worried about me and Zoey being around these plants because a lot of plants are toxic to cats, don’t worry…we don’t mess with them.
I’m much more interested in napping in this big fat sun puddle than munching on some plant with a silly name. Y’know…I think I’ll call it “Betty” from now on.
Oh…before I drift off to slumberland…here’s my selfie.

Trifecta! Nice plant, beautiful crock, and Ernie – most handsome boy!
Happy Sunday.
xxoo
Lovely selfie, Ernie, and it is good of Betty to give you shade for your head.
Oh Ernie…every mamma out here in the CB wants to smooch that handsome face!
Fantastic selfie, Ernie. That really is a weird name for a plant. Betty is a much better name. You all have a perfect day.
Nice selfie, Ernie! Maybe Betty will sing you a lullaby for your selfie. 😉
My Mom says she had a monstera when she lived in Florida a long time ago – it got HUGE – as in HUUUUUUUGE. Pretty plant though and we love the pot your Mom put it in. Hope it doesn’t get so big it blocks your sun puddles Ernie or you might have to resort to some shredding on those lower leaves! HAHA
Hugs, Teddy
Looking good Ernie! You can lay under those leaves if the sun gets too warm!
I’m with you, and Betty, eating plants is for the horses and cows—unless its that nice grass and catnip, MOL
Great selfie, Ernie, and long may that puddle be dry and warm and where you want to be.

Betty is a much better name, good choice!
Nice selfie. I wish my cats would leave plants alone. I can only have them in the dining room which is a no cats zone.
That is a very sleepy selfie, Ernie!
We don’t any house plants here, so we enjoyed looking at yours.
Purrs,
Tama and Genji
Mew mew mew what a weered name fore a plant for sure Ernie!! LadyMeow said to ask yore LadyMeow if shee efurr saw “Littlell shop of Horrorss”? It had a talkin or singin plant inn it…an maybe it was a Dee-licshuss Monster type???

My human loves plants, but I chew on them and she inadvertently kills them. So we don’t have them here.
Wowy, Erns, that is a giant nom nom tree! If I were at your house I wouldn’t be able to resist nibbling on its green leaves. Mom doesn’t keep any plants inside my house, except for the occasional nip grass that she plants in a tiny pot. Happy Sunday. Hugs.
Ernie what great selfies with the new resident. At least you don’t have to share you kibble
I’m like they golden haired one. I love plants but our house faces north so not much sun.
I do have a snake plant and a jade that are thriving in spite of me.
Hugs Cecilia
That’s a nice houseplant. Hopefully Betty likes it there. My mom used to have lots of houseplants, but one of her kitties thought it was fun to tip them over, so we don’t have any indoor plants anymore.
That’s a pretty plant. We have a plant that eats insects inside the house. We don’t come anywhere near it 🙂
Betty is pretty! Our Sam would never leave any houseplant alone, so we couldn’t have many. But I’m not that good with indoor plants anyway, so it was OK.
Hope you enjoyed your nap, Ernie!
You look great Ernie, next to your monstera plant. So glad you and Zoey don’t nom on plants. I didn’t know you could have monstera as a house plant where you live. It gets cold on your island in winter. Monstera in Hawaii grows wild and huge outdoors. I heard it’s an invasive plant here. Zipper is an Island Cat too 🙂
Betty sounds like a great idea. I have dried flowers around the house…they’re already dead and I have a black thumb.
Your portrait looks lovely Ernie! As for your * cough * Betty plant, stick with it, they give good shade if you need somewhere to sip your mocktail out of the sun.
Sorry we are late. Flat car batteries, and confused phone companies held us up!
Thanks for the Harvey wishes Mum is behind with EVERYTHING!
We used to have plants and flowers in the house, but a previous cat, Steamer, and now Lisbeth are munchers, and Mom cannot see the point in spending money on plants just to have them eaten. That does look, however, like a purrfect place to nap, Ernie. Thanks for being a hopper. That is a fine Selfie Ernie and I think you edge out the plant on the good looking scale
Hahaha, Ernie! My mother, as I grew up, always named her plants. I don’t dare do the same with my houseplants, since Manny and CB chew them up!
What a lovely name for a plant, Ernie, Bettie as in Boop? Great Selfie…Twofie 😉 Pawkisses for a wonderful Tuesday 🙂 <3
That’s a cool plant! Our mom has some plants too but we’d rather have catnip.
Plants, us kitties never paid them any heed, but flowers?? Minko was attached to them like a magnet! We couln’t have them inside.
That Monstera sure is a monster, towering over you Ernie…hope it didn’t block out your sun puddle too much:)
That is a funny name for a plant. I’m glad your mom is able to have more now at the new house!
