She’s doing it again. The lady with the yellow hair left is leaving us today for another one of those long weekend getaways. She’s getting together with some of her blogging friends and going to an event called “Meow MeetUp” that’s in Chicago, IL.
What’s Meow MeetUp, you ask?
Meow MeetUp is the biggest cat-themed convention in the Midwest. Started by Lauren Meile of The Catnip Times, the first Meow MeetUp was held last year and was a huge success. This year’s event is going to be even bigger and better. There will be some educational sessions and workshops, interesting guest speakers, fun cat-related activities like a cat café and a kitty yoga studio, and of course…cats. Lots of cats! Several celebrity cats will be there for meet-and-greets and signing pawtographs. I hear our friend, Summer, is one of the celebrity cats that will be there. Lots of money is raised and food donated to help cats in shelters.
Purrsonally, I don’t care if she plays with other cats. But what I do care about is that she’s having some stranger come in to take care of me and Ernie while she’s gone. She knows how much I hate strangers invading my territory! Guess I’ll be spending most of the time under the covers hiding. She better bring me home a present. Or two.
If you live or will be in the Chicago area this weekend, you really should check out Meow MeetUp. It’s at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and goes from 9am-5pm both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased on line or at the event. For more information, click HERE.
We won’t be blogging much while the lady with the yellow hair is gone…but look for us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. She says she’ll try to share some of fun things going on at Meow MeetUp.
