10 years ago today my life changed forever…and for the better…when I stepped inside that steel box trap thingy looking for something good to eat. I became an inside cat that day…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can hardly even remember what it was like living on the outside not knowing what, when and where my next meal would be. I like being FORMERLY feral and I love being an Island Cat! I’ve shared my gotcha story in the past…but for those of you who may not know how I got gotted, you can read about it HERE.
I wanted to do something really special to celebrate this 10 year anniversary of my Gotcha Day…something to help other animals in need. February is National Spay/Neuter Month and we all know how important it is to have us cats and dogs spayed or neutered, right? So the lady with the yellow hair suggested that in honor of my special day, we could have a commentathon to raise monies for our local rescue group PAWS of Michigan…the group that helped with trapping me 10 years ago. They have a program called SNAP…Spay/Neuter Assistance Program…that helps with the cost of spay/neuter surgeries for the pets of low-income families and for feral cats. I think this is a great way to celebrate, don’t you?!?
Here’s how it will work. For every comment made on this post now through Sunday, February 18, we will donate 50 cents to the PAWS of Michigan SNAP fund.
So c’mon…let’s party and help me celebrate my special day by helping animals in need!
