This selfie makes my ears look big

Hey guys. I’ve got some news to share. As some of you may have heard, I was recently diagnosed with intestinal small cell lymphoma or SCL. It’s kinda funny…not funny MOL, but funny weird…because I don’t feel sick though my eating has been a little off. But apparently there’s some really bad cells growing in my intestines. I don’t know what a cell is…but having bad ones isn’t a good thing. The good news, if there is any, is that it’s relatively easy to treat and the prognosis is pretty good. I’ll have to start taking some medicines every day, and hopefully, the medicines will kick those bad cells in the you know what. Us cats usually tolerate these medicines okay, but sometimes they don’t make you feel that great…so it’s kind of a trade off. Oh, and it means more vet visits to check my bloods and stuff which doesn’t make me happy.

As you can imagine, the mom’s pretty stressed out about all of this. So if you could purr and pray and send good thoughts for me…and her, too…we’d really appreciate it.

And as for my selfie today…whaddaya think? Does it make my ears look big??

  10. Oh Ernie, you are my hero my friend and I think you AND your meds will definitely knock the socks off that cancer stuff. I really DO. I’m sure your Mom is super worried – Moms are like that – but WE cats are strong and determined and I just know you will be fine – make sure you give your Mom lots of extra hugs so she will know that you understand she’s worried. I know she will be giving YOU lots of hugs and I’m sure Wally and Zoey will keep a close eye on you too. I told Angel Sammy to send you a bunch of special “polydactyl dood mojo” – cuz I know you have it like he did – that ought to give you some extra PUNCH wiping out those cells.

  52. It is good that lymphoma was caught early. If it is any help to you, the Leukeran can cause nausea and vomiting if the happens to your cat> It did mine and I ordered some good grade hemp oil off internet and gave him about 0.1ml to 0.2ml of hemp about an hour before dosing. My cat could not tolerate every day treatment and I ended up dosing him every other day and some times every 3rd day. I gave Leukeran for about a year and then it began to affect his kidneys and I stopped. I have continued with 0.2ml of hemp daily which keeps him eating, He is quite skinny but alert and affectionate and eats fairly well. I had to find a food that he would not vomit. That happens to be Pro Plan trout and rice and Fancy Feast tuna primavera. He has managed to hang on for 3 years now or maybe it is 4 years I have lost track. I also give sub cu fluids and B12 vitamin injectable added to the fluid line every two days, Good luck with your kitty.

  53. Your selfie is perfect, Ernie, just like you! I’m sending you lots of hugs and purrs (and your mom too!).

We know Mum will worry (she’s only a human after all) but if she needs anything (or just a cheer up), we are here – often when the US is asleep too.

You have a great Mom and she will keep you healthy for a million years (just like we all will our own kitties – right?)
