It’s a day where we remember and pay tribute to those furry loved ones that are no longer with us…who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Of course, these special ones are in our thoughts every day…but Remembrance Day is the day we tell the world about how much they meant to us.
Today we’re remembering the Island Cats of the past…
This is Bogart. He was the mom’s first cat after she graduated from college and was living on her own. None of us ever met Bogart. Though he never actually lived on the island, we made him an honorary Island Cat.
Bogart lived a long life and went to the Bridge in December 2001 at the age of 20 1/2. Even though he’s been gone a long time, the mom still misses him.
This is Scooter…also known as ScooterCat. We’ve talked about Scooter before. He was the first and original Island Cat…and was already living here when I became an Island Cat. Scooter was a lot older than me and he taught me lots of cool stuff. Ernie and Zoey never knew Scooter…too bad…because I know they would have liked him.
Scooter went to the Rainbow Bridge in January 2006…just shy of his 17th birthday. I really miss him sometimes…and I know the mom does, too.

Look Wally! Is that the Rainbow Bridge? Do you think Bogart and Scooter know we’re remembering them today?
Yep, Ernie…I bet they do….
Bogart and Scooter may be gone…but they are never forgotten…and they will always be loved.
