Zzzzzzzzzz…

*Strrrrrreeeeeetch*

Oh, hi guys! Sorry…you caught me snoozing and I didn’t know you were there. Have you been waiting long?

I know some of you are probably wondering how I’m doing health-wise since my recent pancreatitis attack. Well, it’s been about 2 and a half months since my attack and I’m doing okay. I’ve been eating and playing and I’m just about back to my normal self. Which is great. But since my panc attack, my kidneys have gotten just a little bit worse…so now we’re dealing with those issues. I’ve been seeing a new vet…she’s an internal medicine vet at the hospital place I was at and I like her. Well, as much as any cat can like a vet.

I’m still taking some medicines…mostly to make sure I keep eating good…I never wanna have that feeding tube thingy again. And they must be helping because I’ve gained a little weight. In fact, the last time I was at the vet place, she said that I had gained probably just a little too much. The mom asked if she should cut back on my food, and the vet said no…it was okay for me to have a little extra weight but not too much…and for now my weight isn’t a problem. Waydaminit…I don’t just like this vet, I love her!

I’m still waiting for my furs to grow back. When I was in the hospital, they shaved me in so many places…my front legs, my neck and my belly. Sheesh…I was practically nekkid! You can see that my legs are just about back to normal but my neck and belly furs are taking their sweet ol’ time growing back. Jeez…if my furs don’t grow any faster, I’m gonna have to get fur extensions!

Okay, time to get back to my snooze. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. We are so glad that you’re getting back to your normal self, Wally. That is such wonderful news to hear. We are sorry to hear bout your kidneys, but around here Angel Rosie taught us that it is very possible to show that kidney disease exactly who is the boss. She had the disease for 3 years and did take daily meds for it, but she did great on them, and when she needed to head over to the Rainbow Bridge, it was for completely different reasons. What’s more, it sure sounds like you found the purrfect vet to take care of you, Wally! And since we already know that your mom makes for a fantastic nurse, we know you’re in the best hands a kitty could ask for.

Now, we’ll stop rambling and let you get back to that snooze of yours. Sweet dreams, Wally!

  2. We’re glad to hear you are doing well. It’s always nice when you like your VET and this one sounds purrfect. Don’t worry, those furs will grow back!

We’ll post about it soon. Keep getting better and watch those kidneys. Sending lots of healing purrs and POTP. 11. Walls, you look great to us! Now, you keep taking your meds and eating up your food, just like the nice vet lady says…’cause she (and the lady with the yellow hair) want to keep you as healthy as possible. Hugs and snuggles to you, Wally my man!

  16. Thanks for the update, Wally, It’s pretty normal for the kidney values to deteriorate a bit after a pancreatitis attack. We are just keeping all our paws crossed that you continue to do well and maintain your weight. It’s been 11 months since Genji’s attack and he is holding his own pretty well.

    Purrs,

  17. Good news Wally. We hope those kidney numbers get back to where they were before the attack and keep snoozing! It’s the only thing we kittehz can do during these short winter days!
    XOXO

  18. WE are happy that you are almost back to normal. We did not notice any bald spots so you must have covered them up! We are purring that your kidneys start to get better.

  19. We’re thrilled that you’re doing better! Tucker had pancreatitis and spent weeks at the vet clinic, so we know the stress. We hope you can still work a little guilt in to get some extra treats.

  20. Thanks for letting us know how you’re doing, Wally! I’m glad it is good news.

  21. Wally, we’re very glad you’re doing well now, that’s terrific to read! We’ll echo the comment on staying close to something warm. (Nicki has a nekkid tummy right now from an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago, so he can relate!)

  22. You’re looking really good there, Wally! Maybe those fur extensions will catch hold and soon, everyone will be doing it. When we’re flaunting our long pink ones, we’ll remember you started the craze.

  23. Keep staying well sweetie! Looks like your furrs are growing back too.

  24. We’re glad to hear you’re doing well, Wally. Before you said it, we didn’t even have noticed your shaved fur, but it looks it’s already growing back. Purrs

  29. Wally! My friend! So glad to see you not-nekkid anymore . . . though perhaps the tiniest bit *uneven*–but hey, the Human has colleagues who pay to get themselves designed that was on purpose–shaving half their heads just to achieve that unbalanced look you got for free*! The Human says, and for once I agree, that it’s all about the good noms and the good play and the good naps. 😉 Mancatly hugs, buddy!

*well, prolly not really, come to think of it.

  30. We are so glad you are doing so well, we all lov you Wally.

  31. Awww, what a handsome mancat you are. I’m so happy you’re feeling better too. That’s the very best part.

  33. We luff seeing sleepy orange furry folks. And we are very glad you are doing pretty well.

  34. It’s so good to hear that you’re doing well, Wally. Too bad your fur is growing back so coldly in this drafty time of the year. Are you doing extra snuggling to stay warm?

  35. I am so happy that you are doing so much better. How can I get my doctor to tell me my extra weight is okay??? You haircut makes you even more special looking ♥

  36. Thank you for the update Wally! We’re glad you’re doing better! Sending purrs for the kidney thing to get better too! Smooches to you!

PeeS: Did you hear our mommy squee at your pink feets? She’s weird.

  37. That definitely sounds like a good reason to love a vet! Poor baby..winter is no time to go nekkid!

  38. I’m so glad that you are feeling better, Wally. You are such an adorable guy and I was quite worried about you when you got sick. It’s great that your veterinarian is helping you so much. 🙂

  39. I am glad you are feeling better. I pray for you daily.XO

  40. That’s good news Wally! And a vet who doesn’t mind a little weight gain is definitely a keeper! 🙂

  47. It’s good to see you gaining weight, altho’ we know aht you mean about the furs.

Who want to cuddle a boney cat, a bit of weight is a good thing! 😉

  51. Looking good, Wally! We’re so happy that you’re continuing to do well. We’ll keep purring and praying for you, pal. 🙂 Hugs!

  52. We’re so happy that you are feeling better, Wally and getting back to your old self. You’re looking great and we hope the kidney issues will heal properly too. It needs some time, but I think with the allowing of more eating, it will all be fine in no time. We purray for that! Healing Pawkisses for now and thanks for making time for the update while you were sleeping 🙂 <3 <3 <3

  53. Happy to hear you’re on the mend.

  54. YAY for you feeling better my dear friend! That was truly scary stuff with the panc attack…..and know what? The hair will grow back but you look kinda “punk” with the variable length furs so maybe it’s a new look that will catch on! Meanwhile just do what this new doctor you’re in love with wants you to – sounds like she knows her STUFF!

    Hugs Angel Sammy

  55. Wally. Wally! WALLY! Oh, you did wake up. Glad to hear the healing purrz worked and you’re feeling better.

  56. Oh sweet Wally, we hope that good health will be yours shortly and that you won’t have any more ouchies. Hugs.

  57. Awww buddy, your feeling better is beautiful music to my ears. We were really worried bout you, and I know your humans were also worried. Hope you keep getting better and better. By the way, I like the idea of fur extensions. If the human ladies can have extensions for their hair, why can’t kitties?

  58. I might have to call you mr sexy longpaws.
I’m glad you’re reeling better, eating well, and growing back your furs. I nibbled off some of my tail furs this week but mom’s hoping it’s just a little setback due to the stress of my recent vet visits. It takes forever to grow new furs!

  59. Wally, this is good news…we are so happy to hear it! We will keep purring for your good health, buddy.

  60. We are so glad you are doing better, Wally. ♥

  61. We are glad you re doing better, and we are purring you will keep on keeping on! Sending big hugs, purrs and POTP!

We hope those furs grow back soon…winter is no time to be naked, MOL!
