Ernie with Stella & Chewy's Duck Duck Goose

Hey guys. Ernie here. Are you a cat parent that would like to feed your cat raw but don’t want all the muss and fuss that comes with it? Well, lemme tell you about one of my favorite raw foods…Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw dinner morsels.

As part of the Chewy.com Blogger Outreach program, we received a bag of the Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw Duck Duck Goose dinner morsels to try. Now, I have to confess, I already eat the Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried Chick Chick Chicken flavor and I absolutely love it. But this was my first time trying the Duck Duck Goose flavor.

reasons to feed freeze-dried raw food

Stella & Chewy’s® has created a commercial raw pet food that would be as good as what you can make at home. They only use premium meats and fish and all fruits and vegetables are certified organic. They add minerals, vitamins, probiotics and antioxidants to each dinner to make it complete and balanced.

Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw food does not contain any grains, fillers, artificial ingredients or colorings. The freeze-drying process removes the moisture without cooking…and maintains the benefits of food in its raw state. It provides vital proteins, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and natural enzymes that us cats need to be healthy. And freeze-drying locks in the flavor.

Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw Duck Duck Goose dinner morsels are:

* 100% complete and balanced
* 98% poultry, organ and bones
* Suitable for all stages of life
* All natural with added vitamins, minerals and probiotics
* Made with cage-free poultry with no antibiotics or hormones
* Grain-free and gluten free formula reduces allergic reactions
* Made in the USA

Lemme tell you how the mom serves me the Stella & Chewy’s®. Though you can feed the Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw dry, the best way…and how I recommend…is to soak it in warm water first to soften it up. That’s what the mom does. Then she mixes it into my grain-free wet food…about 50-50 proportions. Sometimes when I don’t finish all my food, she crumbles up a few of the Stella & Chewy’s® morsels on top of my food to get me to eat the rest.

So what do I think of the Stella & Chewy’s® freeze-dried raw Duck Duck Goose?  I love it almost as much as I love the Chick Chick Chicken Dinner. I give it my paw of approval! And from me, that’s one BIG paw! Wally was so-so with it, but that’s okay…it just means more for me. Zoey hasn’t tried it because with her megacolon, raw is not the best choice of foods for her.

  1. I usually make homemade cat food, but it requires a lot of time, effort, and elbow grease. This looks like a great alternative!

  2. That sure does look like great food. What a great review too. Ernie, you sure did good with that taste test. You all have a great day.

  3. Due to Chucky’s heart condition, we cannot feed raw (per vet’s strict instructions!) but this looks like a great product! Thanks for the review, Ernie!

  4. just so you don’t start squawking like a goose.

  5. Excellent review. Mom L will get ours done this week for sure cuz we have to do another one for October.

  6. Awesome…looks like we will have a new food to try!

  10. Duck Duck goose is fun to say and we are glad it is also tasty
    Hugs madi your bfff

  11. Hey, that sounds good and our Mom thinks your idea of crumbling those on top of food is a wonderful idea! She’ll go look up some of the finer ingredients to see if those would be a better treat alternative to what we used to eat. Great review!

  12. I’m glad you liked the new flavor! And that is a good idea for your mom to kind of garnish the top with the drier food.

  13. That sounds yummy!!!!

  14. My human gives us Stella and Chewy’s dry as treats… and I have something funny to tell you – she is in Brooklyn at the moment, and when she checked in to the hotel, she looked in her laptop bag, and there is a sample package of Stella and Chewy’s in there! She’d better bring it home!

  15. Oh Ernie, we luv da duck, duck goose too. Great review. Big hugs to all. Have a great day.

    Luv ya’

  16. Great review Ernie! You are right, more for you 🙂

  17. Sigh…I sure wish Mudpie would go for this food.

  18. I got a few samples of the chicken flavor at BlogPaws and I was surprised that Bear ate them as is (I gave them to him as a treat though … not a substitute for his regular food). I agree that this is a really convenient way to feed raw

  19. That does sound pretty good, but we’ve not made the leap yet!

  20. You make that sound good. I’ve never liked the freeze dried but TW has never tried soaking them first. I ate them when I reviewed the Natural Balance food with them in it but have touched it since.

  21. So to answer your question (“Are you a cat parent that would like to feed your cat raw but don’t want all the muss and fuss that comes with it?”) – YES! I will have to consider this one for sure.

  22. Gosh those do look delicious but Mom is so afraid to try stuff out on me since I have such a sensitive tummy these days……Darn!

    Hugs, Sammy

  23. We haven’t tried these before, but they certainly look yummy!

  24. Roadside recently tried the Stella & Chewy’s cat food and boy did he love it! Callie seems not so sure about it though… going to try a new flavor and see if she likes it better maybe.

  25. Thank you for posting! I’m deff going to have to try this! It sounds delicious. Keep up the great posts 🙂

  26. it is always good when you find something that is healthy that is also tasty!

  27. We love Stella & Chewy’s added to our dinners too. They love dogs and cats so they make awesome pawsome food toppers. ♥ Great review!

  28. Well, if Ernie is giving it all toes up, we’ll have to try it.
Chewy’s is our favorite supply company too. They have the best customer service and boxes.

  29. Thanks for this-so timely! I’ve been looking for a raw product for picky Popoki, and she absolutely will not tolerate a standard raw meal (buries instead of eating). I wonder if this might be better. I’ll try it!

  30. All the kitties here love Stella and Chewy’s. We also recently discovered chewy.com and are pleased with their selection, prices, and service.

  31. TBT says he will check it out. But our food already costs him more than HIS food, so he is doubtful.

  32. Great review
Lucy agrees – boxes are the best!

  33. Great review of yummy noms…and an even funner Chewy Box!!

  34. I really think we should try some of this for Samantha. She will only eat one canned food consistently (she eats dry too), and I don’t really love the brand. I’d like her to try something else, and this sounds really good quality.

  35. My cat bro Bert loves freeze dried foods, Sophie not so much. Enjoy!
