Hey Wally. It’s Labor Day today. What do you wanna do to celebrate?
Ernie, Labor Day is a holiday for humans…honoring the human workers and the contributions they’ve made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country. It doesn’t really mean much to us cats. I’m gonna do what I do everyday…eat, sleep, play, and do my best to stay away from you…not necessarily in that order.
C’mon, Wally! We should do something fun. After all, Labor Day is kinda the unofficial end of summer.
Well, in that case, Ernie, I’m gonna soak up as many sunpuddles as I can because you know once summer is over, sunpuddles aren’t as plentiful.
And I’m gonna have some barbecue, Wally. Because holidays like Labor Day mean barbecue…and we won’t get much barbecue once summer ends.
Again with the barbecue, Ernie? Let me clue you in on something. We’ve never had barbecue…ever. The mom won’t give us any…so I don’t know why you keep bringing it up.
A cat can dream, can’t he?
Ernie, I think you should stay outta the sunpuddles. Your brain has been fried enough.
To all of you in the U.S. of A…Happy Labor Day! And to our Canadian friends…Happy Labour Day! And to the rest of you…happy Monday!
