The mom is retiring from her job, Ernie

Hey Ernie. She’s done it now.

Who’s done what now, Wally?

The mom. I heard her talking the other day. She said she won’t be going to work anymore…she’s doing something called “retiring.”

Does that mean she’s gonna be home all day with us from now on?

Oh cod. That’s really gonna cramp our style, Wally. We won’t be able to get away with anything anymore. She’ll be watching us all day and making sure we don’t get into trouble…and she’ll be sticking that flashy box in our faces all the time…we’ll never get any peace and quiet.

That may be true, Ernie…but it also means we’ll get lots more cuddle time and playtime…and we’ll get more treats. And we’ll be able to start bugging her really early to feed us dinner…we won’t have to wait until she comes home like we usually do.

Hmmmm…that sounds like a pretty good trade off, Wally. This retiring thing may not be so bad after all.

  16. Hey, you guys. Don’t you know that retiring means that your mama is going to retire when and if she wishes, lie down, read a book, take time for HERSELF and sure, there’s going to be a few extra cuddles but I think she’ll find that she doesn’t have time to do anything and she’ll wonder why that is! My mama did.

  17. There are lots of benefits to having a human around all the time! And if yours isn’t working anymore, she can spend lots of time working on your blog for you!

We have to wait a few more years till the peeps here can do that, though pawppy could retire yesteryear if he wanted to:) 36 years earns him the right to do that whenevfur he wants to now…but he does like his work we guess.
Meowmy needs about three more years…sigh…
