Hey everybuddy.  Wally here.  We’ve mentioned before that the mom is kind of fanatical about what we eat.  She wants us to eat healthy foods…though we don’t always oblige her.  Hey, a cat’s gotta have his junk food once in a while, right?

The mom would like us to eat more raw food.  Why’s that?  Us cats are meat eaters by nature, and a raw diet provides nutrition the way nature intended…more like how cats in the wild eat.  But the mom doesn’t want to make the raw food herself…too much mess and trouble she says.  That’s why she…and we…were excited when we were given an opportunity to try Nature’s Variety® Instinct® Raw Bites.

Instinct Raw Bites are packed with protein…all natural, never cooked, complete and balanced nutrition…and mirror a cat’s natural diet.  They’re made with the highest quality ingredients…95% meat, organs and bones, 5% fruits and vegetables, and 100% grain free.

What are some of the benefits of eating raw…and, in particular, Instinct Raw Bites?

  • Healthy skin and coat
  • Optimal digestion
  • Healthy teeth and gums
  • Relief from food sensitivities
  • Ideal body weight

All great benefits, right?  You betcha!!

And one of the best things about Instinct Raw Bites?  They’re more readily available now!  Our local PetSmart has them!  It was real easy for the mom to pick up some for us.  She got us the chicken and the rabbit varieties.  They also come in duck and tuna.

Instinct Raw Bites come frozen but you just scoop and serve.  The bites thaw quickly.  They can be fed alone as a sole meal or can be mixed with dry or canned food.  Hey humans, when starting your cat or dog on a raw diet, it’s real important that the raw food’s transitioned into their diet slowly to get their digestive tracts used to it.

We get the Instinct Raw Bites mixed into our canned food…about 1/3 bites and 2/3 canned food. Someday we may transition completely over to raw, but for now, this works pretty good for us.

To show you how much we like the Instinct Raw Bites, Ernie made a short video of himself chowing down….

  2. That is one terrific review of those treats. They sound good to us. Looks like you sure like those Wally. You all have a terrific Tuesday.

  3. I used to buy those but in the one once patties. I mixed it with their canned food because they wouldn’t eat it alone. Now I buy the Instinct freeze dried raw and use for treats but I want to go back to the frozen raw and the little bites look like they are worth a try.

  4. I checked and the pet store where I buy the boyz’s food carries instinct raw. I have to stop buy tonight because we’re running out of food. hmmmm I may have to pick up a bag…

  5. I will have to have the Dad take a look, he doesn’t remember seeing that at our PetSmart, but they are usually out of what he goes after anyways!

  6. Great review! We’ve never had raw food so we are looking forward to Mom bringing it home for us the next time she’s at Petsmart.

  7. That sounds great ! Mum is very interested in raw food for us, but she’s too lazy (she says busy…) to make it herself. We have to see if we can find ready-to-eat raw food in Switzerland. Purrs

  8. We have been trying out the Instinct Raw Bites as well and my huskies LOVE them!!!
I am happy to see the kitties enjoy them too!

  10. Those really sound delicious! We’ll ask The Mom if we can give them a try too!

  11. After seeing Summer, Binga and Boodie enjoying these foods yesterday and now you boys today, our mommy is definitely going to make us try it. She’s tried making us eat raw before but we wouldn’t even lick it once even if it was mixed in our regular foods! We might try this if we get to eat it on the counter like you boys though! 🙂

  12. That’s a great review! Looks like you enjoyed it mixed with can food!

  13. This looks delicious thanks for sharing your review!

  14. We enjoyed trying out the Instinct Raw Bites too! My human thinks it is especially important to keep feeding it to Binga because it seemed to help her digestive issues. But of course, if she gets it, Boodie and I do too!

  15. We loves loves loves Natures Variety Instinct Raw Boost. That is true for kitty (Sunshine the Cat) and doggies.

  23. You’ve definitely inspired to keep trying Mudpie on the Raw Bites. I’m going to try again with smaller pieces and softening it with warm water. Paws crossed 🙂

  24. That food looks great! I want to try some after reading that. My mouth is watering.

  25. Great review. I hope mom checks out the treats and brings me some home to enjoy. Thanks for stopping by yesterday to help me celebrate my Gotcha Day. It was so nice seeing you. Hope you had a good time at the party.

  26. We’re crossing our paws that the PetSmart nearest our house will start carrying these so that we can have them in our food rotation.

  27. you are such a dainty eater, Ernie 🙂 our mom is a fanatic about our food too…she is kind of a cat food snob, really, mol. Our mom likes this and the similar Primal brand cause they thaw quickly. you have a good idea to mix with your shtinky goodness both to transition and just to have the raw go farther.

  28. It should be you on the bag 🙂 I am glad they have a trial size, I may get some.

  29. Haven’t heard of this food yet! It does look tasty and Ernie seems to enjoy it. Callie really loves junk food, but she also loves canned food. I wonder what she’d think of this.

  30. We already like the Instinct Raw Bites Treats and Mixers. We’re trying the frozen Instinct food this weekend. We think we’ll like it.

    Nice review!

  31. Good for you ! Your Mom is looking out for you in the best way with the best food. I’m so darn picky about what I eat……and these days I really don’t eat much PERIOD but in my younger day I bet I would have liked this stuff!

    Hugs, sammy

  32. This seems like a great healthy idea, but I wonder if our fussy Sam would eat it or not. She doesn’t seem too crazy about anything that looks like real food! MOL
