Hey everybuddy! Zoey here! Today I’ve got something fun to share with you. Have you heard about the blog hop that was started by Bacon the Pig and Fozziemum called “Shopping Around the World?” Once a month Bacon and Fozziemum post a list of 5 items and then everyone posts what each of these items costs in their areas. It’s a lot of fun to see what stuff costs all over the world…so we decided to pawticipate.
Here’s the list of this month’s 5 items and how much they cost on our island…
1. A random frozen meal
We chose Boston Market’s Chicken Parmesan frozen dinner. It costs $3.99.
2. A random condiment
The orange stripey cat picked mayonnaise for this item because he likes mayonnaise. What a weird cat he is. A jar of Kraft mayo is on sale for $3.49.
3. A random dessert or sweet
The lady with the yellow hair loves chocolate cake. A double fudge chocolate cake from the store’s bakery costs $11.99.
4. Any random item
Well, what goes better with chocolate cake than vanilla ice cream, right? And though us kitties can’t have chocolate cake…we can have vanilla ice cream. Yum! A 1 ½ quart of Edy’s Slow Churned vanilla ice cream costs $4.99.
5. A random fruit
We love our nip nanners. But what about real nanners? Chiquita bananas cost 55 cents a pound.
So how do these prices compare to where you live?

What fun, Zoey! We should go and see who else is participating so we can see more prices.
I think your prices are a little higher than ours, but not by much. That cake looks good.
That is fun to see what prices are around the world. We will have to check those items out. You all have a fun Friday.
How fun! We’re definitely going to make note of this hop next month and play along 🙂
Please do! It’s a lot of fun to see the different items and prices from all over the world. I’ll be posting on my blog next week the new items for next month’s shopping around the world. Hope to see you there! XOXO – Bacon
Awesome! Thanks my friend for participating this month in Shopping Around the World. Isn’t it a lot of fun? I love seeing the products and different prices. Your banana prices are similar to mine. I eat a lot of them too – I <3 me some bananas! And that cake – WOW! Mom is trying to lick my computer screen to get at it. Talk to you soon my friend! XOXO – Bacon
That’s some great shopping pretty Zoey! I’m hungry now for some reason!
Your prices is a little lower than ours up in the great white north, but then, our dollar is a little lower than yours. So I guess they is just about the same,

Nellie
This is about the same here in Toronto.
Oh that’s such a fun game! I gotta check out the prices on those items when I go shopping next time!

A fun blog hop! We will have to participate next time!
M & D were just out shopping this morning, but M doesn’t remember what price they paid for anything. She would guess it’s probably close to what you pay because we are sort of neighbors.
Hi Zoey! Your prices are pretty darn close to our prices in Virginia! How about that!!!!
Hugs, Sammy

My mom loves chocolate too.

My human actually bought that Boston Market frozen dinner and had it for lunch a few days ago! She forgets what it cost, but she thinks it was about 440 calories.
Well, I’ve got to believe it costs roughly the same on my side of Metro Detroit as it does for you, but the hubby does all the shopping in our house. Except for cat food…that’s my job! Cat food, litter and anything cat-related is my ballywick!
I feel like we’re playing the price is right!! Good thing I”m already spayed or Bob would be after me…- Crepes.

This is so neat. I’m not sure. I think your prices may be a bit higher than ours, but if so, not by much. I’m going to check out this hop. I’d like to join next time. How funny that Wally likes mayo. 🙂
You’re looking pretty, Zoey!
Interesting! Our bananas are $3.20 per kilo. 1 kilo = approx 2.2 pounds.
A few years ago our bananas were crazy expensive at $15+ per kilo, due to one of the cyclones destroying all the crops up north.
My assistant says she would be happy to take that chocolate cake off your hands …or paws!
My assistant says she would be happy to take that chocolate cake off your hands …or paws!
Mum says she only knows the price of bananas, last paid 49 cents a pound.
Whoa! This looks like fun. Everything is so much cheaper by you. TW only knows sale prices cos she never looks at anything full price. This week TW bought some canolli in the supermarket just to try them. They were $4.49 for 4 of them and the peeps said they weren’t bad. Of course, they weren’t as good as the Italian pastry shop but much cheaper.
CK..i had a cannoli fix in Little italy this week when i went to town..oh lordy..i posted the pics on my bloggie..i have gained much weight..just sayin hahaa:)
Oh Zoey that cake looks super delish..seems you fruits are cheaper but the rest about the same as here 🙂 and my kitties love mayo too..usually when my back is turned they love on it real good!! hahaha 🙂 thanks for joining Bacon and i on our shopping trip sweetie 🙂 loves Fozziemum xxx
What an interesting idea! Most of the items you posted cost around the same here in Arizona. I wonder which locale has the highest prices?
I love seeing the differences around the globe.
Prices?
We, your elected Purrime Ministerettes of Planet Purrth serving all anipals except snakies, stands for free noms for all anipals except snakies! And as snakies often noms other anipals and them no has money, them has been depurrted to Pole up North and goes to McDonald’s there and noms veggie burgers every day instead. Very healthy and free as we no pays taxes for Pole up North!
XXXX
It’s always interesting, but it would be easier to compare if we knew the average income of each country ; it’s much much more expensive in Switzerland, but incomes are higher, taxes are higher, expenses are higher, so in percentage of the average income it’s finally almost the same for many items. Purrs
We should do this next time. I think things are much more expensive here!!
Looks like we almost have the same prizes over here 🙂
XOXO
Did your mom buy those items or just price them? If she bought that chocolate cake, our mom will be on the next plane. Please join us tomorrow for our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. XOCK Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
What a fun post! We (Mom Paula) rarely goes grocery shopping except to pick up some Edy’s Butter Pecan icecream at the local Dollar General. It’s normally $4, but sometimes is on sale for $3
We made mom bean check the innerwebs to find out the prices. She says the are:
Hungryman frozen dinners $3.97,Hellmans’ Mayonnaise $3.99 (hey that would be a pawsome name for a cat), a black forest chocolate cake would be $9.99, and bananas as 88 cents a pound. She couldn’t find a price for ice cream…guess the stores know it’s too cold out there!
Have a great rest of the weekend efurrybody!
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
Those prices seem close to ours. I’d wait until the bakery puts the cake on sale for $4.99! LOL!
Ha! Interesting!
