Ho ho ho everybuddy! It’s me…Santa Wally here with Kris Kringle Ernie. A few weeks ago, some of us blogging kitties and our humans got together and decided that we would do something special this holiday season to help the homeless kitties in our communities. We would donate toys, treats and food to our local shelters and rescues, and encourage others to do the same. And so the Santa Kitty Toy Hop was born.
Us Island Cats are pretty lucky…we have a great forever home, we have lots of good foods to eat and lots of toys to play with. We love to help those kitties who aren’t as fortunate as us. Hey, Kris Kringle Ernie…why don’t you tell everybuddy what we did for the Santa Kitty Toy Hop?
Sure, Santa Wally. Y’know, we have a great shelter here on the island that we donate to regularly and it gets plenty of other support from the community. So for the Santa Kitty Toy Hop, we decided to help a private rescue group that doesn’t get as much support. That rescue is Winnie’s Wish which is run by Miss Chrystal. You may know Miss Chrystal from her blog, Daily Dose of Dogs (aka Cats with Your Coffee). She, along with her family, rescues and fosters abandoned animals and works hard to find them forever homes.
Rather than send toys, we sent Miss Chrystal some much needed food…two huge bags of kibble and two cases of stinky goodness. The food was delivered last week by the man in brown shorts, and Miss Chrystal sent us this picture of it after it arrived.
Now the kitties of Winnie’s Wish will have full bellies for Christmas.
We hope all of you will consider donating to Winnie’s Wish or your local shelter or rescue, if you can. It doesn’t have to be much…a bag of food or litter, some cat toys or even a few green papers. They will appreciate it! Let’s make sure all the shelter kitties have a Happy Holiday!
