Easy E Sunday

So here I am laying on the new carpeting in our family room that we got a couple of weeks ago.  It feels pretty good.  Actually, I’m really enjoying this great sunpuddle…it feels even better!  But I digress…back to the carpeting.  Let me tell you a little story.  A few days ago, I was sitting here in the family room with the humans and all of a sudden I felt a yak attack coming on!   And I knew it was gonna be a good one!  But the mom’s yak radar must have been set on high that day because she took one look at me and said “Oh no…not on the new carpeting!” and she grabbed me and moved me over to the tile floor where I let go of one big messy yak!  And the mom said “Whew…that was close!”

Sooner or later, I know I’ll be on  the new carpeting when I’m gonna get the urge to yak again and mom with her radar isn’t gonna be around.  And when she finds the mess and complains and uses all those bad words while she cleans it up, I’ll just be thinking “You shoulda got yak colored carpeting!”  Heheheh.

Now let me get back to this great sunpuddle.  Have an easy, yak-free Sunday, everybuddy!

  2. Yes, a yak color carpet sounds like a terrific idea!!! Have fun in the sunpuddle!

  3. That wouldn’t work around here, yak colored carpet, since we have so many different colored yaks.MOL. That new carpet does look comfy and we sure hope you don’t manage to get a yak up on it. Hope all of you have a terrific Sunday.

  4. our carpet is so old, mom has given up….but good luck with mom’s radar being off

  5. MOL MOL MOL Ernie you are my hero!! Too funny…Mom says that is good advice and next time she is looking for carpet she’ll be sure to look for some that is brownish, greenish, yellowish…
    Hugs Madi

  6. I had to laugh when I read this. My father’s cat was trained to not yak on the carpet…and they say cats aren’t trainable!

  7. I can understand why you love “your” new carpet;-)
    Hugs from Pernille

  8. You will get it before long! It is going to happen so make it a good one!

  9. Why did they get carpet that looks to be super duper pawsome for digging in claws and letting a yak fly??? It’s all about traction!

  10. How silly of your human to install carpeting that does not match kitty puke! ‘Cause you know it is going to happen sooner or later.

  11. We like to give Mum a good yak puddle with lumps in too – it’s good for her to use all the naughty words while no one else is about!

  12. Too late… Theo already yakked on the rug this morning…

  13. HAHAHAHA!!! We have no carpet so we compensate by yakking on Mommy’s office chair…
    Enjoy your lovely sunpuddle, Ernie!

  14. I think yak colored carpeting would have been more prudent, but what do I know? Our carpets are a wonderful pattern of rich earth tones that hide yak stains very well.

  15. We always yak on the big throw rugs on the wooden floors. If we’re gonna yak, we need a carpeted area to do it upon.

  16. MOL at yak colored carpeting!

  17. Funny Ernie, I was thinking the same thing while I was reading the post. That light-coloured carpet is going to show any stain darker than it is. And if you have a whopping big black hairball — that’s really going to stand out.

Probably a khaki colour is closet to yak, I think.

By the way, I saw your comment on Spitty the Kitty’s avatar, and I have made one for each of you kitties. Please just let me know where to send them.

  18. Moms have really good radar but won’t it be fun to see her reaction when you pick the one time her radar is off to yak on the new carpet? MOL!

We want to thank you for the comforting words for the loss of our sisfur Sadie. We miss her a lot but are glad she was able to share her sweet spirit to so many through our blog.

  19. It’s a great looking sun puddle. I hope there will be no yakking today. purrs

  20. Hope you are doing better and no more yaks xo

  21. HaHaMeow! Mom says efurrything in our new house is gonna be bomit-colored! And scratched up to start with! Enjoy your sunpuddle. xoxo

  22. Browsing the web and came across your site. We have 6 cats… actually we had 7 until last January when one of our 19 year olds passed. But I just wanted to say that we actually considered the cats’ upchucking and hair shedding when we recently replaced the carpet on the stairs. It’s the only place we have carpet. Because of the cats, we now have multicolored (shades of grays and tans) slate almost everywhere (still have wood floors in bedrooms). but since 5 of the 6 cats are black or some combination of black or charcoal, we went with dark grey on the stairs. It’s worked out well…

  23. Yep, my mom has surrendered to the inevitable, and adopted a yak-colored color scheme for our home decor. But, with new technology for stain-resistant carpeting and more effective spot cleaners, there’s a good chance your new carpet will look great for a very long time even with the occasional yak event…but it’s still a lot of fun to see the look on your human’s face when they see your handiwork splattered across their pretty new carpet.

  24. We do our yakking at night, then when our beans get up first thing and forget to put on the slippers, they find our ‘gifts”. Mombean says it’s the way to NOT start the day.

  25. That’s a super idea…yak colered carpeting. Why don’t the peeps think of a great solution like that.

    Have a great evening…

    pawhugs, Max, Bugsy,and Knuckles

  26. Mom gave up on carpets years ago!! Thanks for you birthday visits.

  27. I told Mom she needs to get yak proof flooring.

  28. Now that”s an outstanding idea – yak colored carpeting! I love it and am going to suggest M get some all over the house now., Then I don’;t have to hear anymore of this “oh Mario!.”

  29. Yak coloured carpet is a good idea. Our mum doesn’t seem very convinced though.

  30. Time for a bath, Ernie…fuel that yak!

  31. Bwaaa! Haaa! Haa! Good one Ernie! My Mommy has good yak radar, but usually it is just to gets me off the bed in the middle of the night. Then she has to run (really fast and nekked) to grabs the paper towels and wipes it up before my hairy slobbery sister Cinnamon can eats it! (just leaving a orance/yellow stain on the carpet).
Me Loves it! Oh yes, the carpet is lovely!
Me hopes yous the one to christen it!

  32. Pick out a good spot fer the first yak on the new carpet!

  33. Until the carpet is christened, it just won’t be right.

  34. MOL, I feel the same way about my new carpet, a few months old now.. Star has seen fit to put her mark on it a few times, and yup, I freak out!

  35. Nice carpet! Perfect for sleeping on, right Ernie? 😀 Btw, we love that cute cat pillow on the corner 😀

  36. I know how you feel! Our mom does that when we try to yak in the bed (well, mostly Mica Moo does). Its a guaranteed trip off the bed. She’s given up on saving the carpet though.

  37. But Yak comes in so many colors, Ernie. You’d definitely have to get a nice print rug, MOL! The Human is really impressed wif your paws! She never noticed them till she spent so much time wif the new Mitten Kitten!

  38. You were just trying to christen the new carpet, right? 🙂
