My Ode to The Rain

 Rain rain go away
Come again some other day
I know April showers
Are supposed to bring May flowers
But birdies wanna play in the tree
And I wanna watch some Bird TV
So rain rain go away
Come again some other day
(preferrably when I’m sleeping)

The End

  1. Thank you Ernie. We totally agree (our entire Sunday has been gloomy and rainy).

  2. Oh Ernie, we did not know you were a poet and a good one at that. We hope the rain goes away for ya. Send it down here. We need it so badly. Take care.

  3. Ernie, we love your poem 🙂 Maybe our rain went and visited you cause now this weekend we have lovely sun puddles again…woops! sorry, don’t mean to rub it in…we’ll send you some of our sun shines! We hope you can find something good to watch on your “big screen” , even if it’s just raindrops (Minnie says those are fun) Purrs,

  8. Oh yeah, we agree! We love the “Bird Disturbances” show that usually happens around twilight time. The robins fight and we get really excited.

  9. Wow, Ernie, what a nice song, you are a great poet !!! Here (Paris, in France), the wind is chilly and cold today, but I’m in love, yours words are so romantic !

  24. We hope your rain goes away so you can watch your Bird TV Ernie. It has been sunny but very cold today, but yesterday we had thunder boomies and lightning which made our lights go out.

  25. We like it best when it rains when we’re asleep, too, Ernie! There were thunder boomers and light cracks that started last nigh heret, but there was a little bird radio for a while this afternoon. You’re a poet and we didn’t know it!

  26. We has hadded a lot of rain this last week also, but I think it is done now. It was probably a good thing, though, since we had the driest winter ever! But it’s time for the birdies and the other little flying things, specially the ones that get inna house so we can ded them! Ha ha ha!

  27. Ernie, it looks like you got away from the rain by going on a train ride. Hope the bees didn’t sting too much!

  28. Great job, Ernie! We agree … the rain really puts a damper on our bird and squirrel TV fun, too.

  29. So Ernie—when is your book of poetry going to be printed? Your Ode to Rain was just thunderlicious and stormtastic 🙂

    Noir

PS. Thanks to your Mom and everyone with helping us about Mooch the torbie!

  30. Ernie, your poet didn’t know it. I’m supposed to say but your people show it because there Longfellow’s however I think yours are Hemingway.

  31. Oh! How we wish for some rain. We haven’t gotten any in weeks and there’s none in the forecast. The mom tried planting this weekend and it was like digging into cement.

  32. Rain, rain, come over here
we need it cos we’ve run out of beer
    and need some cheer!

    Enjoy it Ernie 🙂
