The other day our dad-guy stopped for lunch at this little coney island place and out in the parking lot was this strange looking birdie.  The dad-guy just happened to have his flashy box with him, and the birdie didn’t mind having his picture taken (he really was strange!).

The birdie had a really funny looking face…all red and bumpy!!  The dad-guy gave him some bread and that birdie gobbled it up!

We’ve never seen a birdie like this before.  So we had our mom google it to find out what kind of birdie it was.  She found out it was a type of Muscovy Duck, which is native to Mexico and Central and South America, but variations can be found everywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

We were mad that the dad-guy didn’t bring the birdie home with him.  We woulda like to have him for dinner…as a guest, of course!!  😉

  10. Yes, that’s a Muscovy duck! Casper’s Mom used to take care of one of those (sadly, Mr. Red-Facey, as he was called, passed away in May of this year). Here’s one of Casper’s posts about Mr. Red Facey: http://caspermom.blogspot.com/2010/07/update-on-red-facey.html
