Hey, today’s my Gotcha Day! It’s been one year since that guy and the lady with the yellow hair caught me and I became an inside cat!
I don’t remember much of my early days. All I know is that I was living outside behind a big building. Which was scary because I was just a little cat. I had to hunt for my food…often in this dumpster.

Sometimes the people from the building would give me food. It was okay when it was warm, but then it got cold…and then snowy. The people built me a place to stay warm and sleep. Here’s a picture of the shelter they built me:

But then that guy, who was one of the people from the building, and the lady with the yellow hair caught me and brought me to live here on the island. I remember being really scared ‘cuz everything was new and different.

(This is one of my first pictures…don’t I look a little scared??)
I’ve come a long way in the past year…and I’m still learning how to be a proper Island Cat…but I know one thing…I sure am a lucky cat!!!

Thank you Maggy, Zoey and the Zoolatry Human for this great graphic!!!

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY ZOEY!!!
I’m very very glad you got caught and taken to the island. That sounds hard, having to find food in the dumpster and braving the cold and snow. And in that picture? You don’t look scared you look like you’re thinking “Ohhh yeah…I’m gonna have it GOOD!”
February 17th, 2009 at 4:17 am

Thanks for that suggestion! We have gotten limited ingredient diet foods from our vet, and once he stops eating it we sometimes return it or we will keep it and try to re-introduce it at a later time to see if he will eat it again.
Last time he tried duck and green peas from Royal Canin, but wouldn’t eat it. We haven’t tried the venision, so that may be our next shot!

We missed your 1st gotcha day yesterday. We are excited for you to have such a wonderful home. You do look a little scared for your first picture but it had to be much more scarier to live outside and having to rely on dumpster diving to get food.

Happy Happy Gotcha day to you!!!!
February 17th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Zoey, congratulations on your first gotcha day. No I don’t think you look scared. I think you look relieved that you don’t have to be out in that snow anymore. Patches lived outside for about five or six years until she came in the house. Now I don’t think you can get her outside. She used to wrap herself around the stove pipe on the roof when it got real cold. Before Mom got me I was eating out of a dumpster too. If I hadn’t gotten sick Mom would have never caught me. She tried though. I was a kitten then.
