It’s My Gotcha Day!
That’s right, kitties! On this day 7 years ago, the mom gotted me from the animal shelter and brought me to the Island to live!
You know how black cats have a hard time finding homes? Well, I got my home because I was black! The mom had heard about how black cats are considered less adoptable (phooey, I say!) and made a point of looking for a black cat to adopt.
Here’s a picture of me the first time the mom saw me. You’ve probably seen this one before, but it’s one of the mom’s favorites.
She says it was love at first sight. Yeah…I think my big feets had something to do with it. The mom and the dad guy say they’re pretty lucky to have found me, but y’know what? I think I’m the lucky one. Being an Island Cat is the best!
So, c’mon! It’s time to PARTY!!
There’s lots of treats…
And live dead shrimps, ham and salmon.
There’s fresh nip to nom…
And mousies to whap.
I hope you’ll stay awhile and have some fun!

Woo hoo! You know how I feel about black cats! Oh yeah….I AM one! We rock! Well, all 10 of us are here to help you celebrate Ernie. Mom has a confession to make…it was love at first sight when she saw you too. Yeah, we’ve got a big soft spot for you Ernie!

Our mom had no idea black cats were hard to adopt when she took in Carl. She just thought he was cute and color didn’t matter to her (it never does, but she is partial to tabbies).
